The Haciendas of Yucatan: More than luxury and comfort
The Haciendas of Yucatan, a gem of chic resorts born from a vision and a noble dream to create one of the most exquisite places surrounded by delicate details, history, ambiance and comfort, all for the pleasure of the guests and the benefit of the community. A great success story of conscious tourism and social principles: It recently won the 2009 Poverty World Savers Award by Condé Nast as the company who seeks to fight poverty.
Sta. Rosa, Temozon, San Jose, Uayamon and Puerta Campeche, five haciendas from between the 16th and 18th century were former sisal plantations, scattered across the Yucatan Peninsula that have been renovated with a stunning blend of colonial architecture, Mexican furniture and a semi-industrial and modern aesthetic. At the core of the project: the people. The employees of these unique haciendas are villagers, Mayan natives, eager to work and to give the best service to visitors.
The haciendas are located about 50 minutes away from the international airport of Merida (airport code MID) – the capital of the state of Yucatan - except for Uayamon and Puerta Campeche, located 25 minutes and 10 minutes respectively from the airport of Campeche (airport code CPE).
